Lead singer and guitar player Claude Seguin brings to the stage an impressive history of musicianship and experience that began as a child singing in church, jamming with local musicians, and playing in a duo at dances in his local community center. From an early age, Claude was taken with the lonesome sound and vocal harmonies he heard listening to bluegrass on the radio with his father.
ABOUT
Forming his first bluegrass band in 1970, Claude guided Bruce County Grass through the rigorous club and festival circuit of the 70s and 80s, chalking up two albums and the Canadian Bluegrass Album of the Year award in 1980.
Drawing from a diverse musical repertoire of traditional and contemporary bluegrass, country, western swing, and Canadian folk, Claude's rich tenor voice and smooth guitar work has drawn esteem from fans and peers alike.
1982 North American Banjo Champion, 1982 Canadian Banjo Award, Recording King Banjo endorsement artist, twice nominated for CCBA Banjo Player of the Year, David recently joined with longtime friend and fellow musician Claude Seguin, playing banjo and guitar, singing baritone and bass, bringing together Grassland.
Starting his musical career in the mid 70's, bluegrass artist David Jack has long been considered one of the premier banjo players on the Canadian music scene. With roots in both traditional and contemporary bluegrass, David’s taste, timing, and tone has defined his trademark style.
From the early days of festivals such as Ontario's Carlisle Bluegrass Festival and Manitoba’s Boggy Creek to folk Festivals including Vancouver, Winnipeg, Hamilton and London, to clubs and stages across Canada and the USA including London’s Firehall, Toronto's El Mocambo, Nashville's Ryman Theatre, and George Jones Possum Holler, David has toured and recorded with Canadian bands such as Rural Retreat, Station Road, the Dixie Flyers, Bruce County, Hard Ryde, and Blackwell.

A past lead and steel guitar player with roots in country, western swing, and rockabilly, dobro player Bob Trembley brings a lifetime of musical wealth and experience to Grassland.

A founder of the Sherwoods Trio and Sherwood music, Bob has toured North America along with spending two years playing steel guitar for the Silver Bar Ranch on CKCO TV. An in demand sideman, he can be found on Cds from Crossover Junction and Mike Slauenwhite.
On the bluegrass stage, Bobs tasteful approach on the dobro to both lead and backup playing is a welcome addition to Grassland.

Charlie Steinhoff, a veteran within the Ontario music community brings to the stage a unique fusion of bluegrass, folk, oldtime, gaelic, swing, and country. A true multi-instrumentalist, Charlie joins Grassland playing mandolin, bass, singing lead and harmony vocals.
